It will be a busy week. I'm on deadline for a writing project for a travel publication, I am working on our new partnership with the wonderful Turid from Toscana Hus , a fabulous website promoting stunning rental properties in Tuscany and one off special Italian finds like our B&B, and I am anxiously waiting for my kiln, which is now firing. In the kiln are over 1,000 handmade ceramic tiles, glazed in a myriad of colors. And today, in the mail, I received my first of two packages of hand made Venetian glass smalti and tesserae from Murano. By the end of the week I will be working on a new series of mosaic mirrors made from repurposed ceramic, hand made and fired ceramic tiles and these stunning glass pieces.
Stay tuned...

Love the glaze!
Claudia, it's a lot like the turquoise glaze on the tiles in our bathrooms in the main house. Very soft and watery. lots of hugs and warm wishes to you and Herb!
Beautiful colours .. you are a very very talented lady, :-)
Can't wait to see it fired. It looks so beautiful already.
I can't wait to see what you do with these! Beautiful! Love the colors of the tile and glass. Yep, you are going to be one busy bee!
Have a wonderful (if busy) week!
Oh, delicious!
So many incredible projects Diana! I admire your energy, enthusiasm and creativity.
Looks just like candy... yum!
I was thinking about you the other day and wondering how you are. I hear you on the doing, doing, doing mode. I told my husband recently that I feel like I wake up in the morning, eat breakfast, and work and work until I fall into bed that night. It is getting easier, but I barely have time to do a post or two here and there, much less visit other blogs or write anything nice to anyone… but all in good time (or at least that is what I tell myself).
I guess you must be fondly reminiscing about the good ‘ol days of living in Germany… sigh, missing the cold and rainy weather where you couldn’t really be sure if it was summer or winter, pulling your favorite sandals out at least once to look at them and put them back into place until the following year, and lets not forget the stylish scarves and jackets that one can wear this time of year… oh, me, oh my, what you are missing!
Well, I guess I can’t complain too much because this year has actually been Herr-lich! Maybe a little too much, but I guess we might have to wait another four years for weather like this again. (seems like every time there is the WM, we have ridiculously warm weather) Hope yours is staying fine for you.
Please, please enjoy your vacation, smell lots of roses, and FORGET about work! It looks like we will be having turkey for our vacation this year!!! (and hopefully a little pumpkin pie) Hope all is well.
