These Are The Days

The rain brought the tiny petals down from the fruit trees...

... and everywhere was a light coating, like tiny pearls from heaven...
...but the herb garden loved the rain, more than our driveway did.

So today when the sun came out, I started to  dream about how summer will be again...

...and thought about trying new recipes....

...and some wines.
I took the chance to finish up some paintings... inside the fog are pieces of home....houses wanting to come out in the sun...

...and some ceramics that are now ready to be fired.

Days which are full of inspiration and hope need to be treasured and savored.  I see the antipasto I will serve on this plate -- maybe some fresh anchovies with red onions, basil and fresh tomato dotted with Ligurian olive oil?  Or some buffalo mozzarella laced with fresh pesto?

The plate dried out perfectly, it seems. Please post about it once it's been fired.
I never tried mozzarella and pesto. I will, even without a nice home made plate (and yes for Ligurian oil, if you can find the real Taggiasca thing ...).

ah, yes, sunshine! I never ever thought I would be craving that from Hawaii! Nothing like good art, delicious food and great wine (and dark chocolate) to help lift us from the gloom of a long winter!
