The Small Things...

We had visitors today.  Important people from the town. We wanted to make the best impression possible, and so we cleaned and polished and primped and made everything as beautiful as we could.

We wanted them to feel the passion behind our project.  The things inherited, received, purchased and homemade which grace our rooms and give them their soul.
The small details, like this coffee table, which was commissioned by us from the artist Katharina Ortleb and the artist/blacksmith Paolo Moretto

The Mexican trunk which I dragged through four countries...

The beautiful pot, a gift from guests from South Africa, after I helped them get an emergency dental appointment.
The care in the smallest of guest details...
The mirror from the fabulous Haitian shop in Nice...

The wall mounted end tables from the antique market on the streets of Acqui Terme...

My very favorite chair which I found sitting in the house the day after we bought it...
I think they understood.

I am very, very certain that they understood... and it is all very, very beautiful.

So much love and care with each item! The trunk alone, and its story. They must have felt your passion, I'm sure.
