Gina DePalma: Winner of the 2008 Bon Appetit Pastry Chef of the Year Award
My friend Gina De Palma has won the prestigious Pastry Chef of the Year Award 2008 from Bon Appitit Magazine. In light of the events of this year, this award is particularly poignant and deserved. Congratulations, my friend. Here's to many more awards in the future.

I know she's also up for a James Beard Award--when are those annoucned?
I think Gina has been nominated 7 times for the Beard award -- and has never gotten it. She is the Susan Luca of the Beard awards! I think she has achieved cult status with that claim to fame.
Congrats to Gina! Or should I call her "La DePalma" in honor of all her nominations ;)
